ChatPRD

The bootstrapped AI product manager that 100,000 PMs use, run by one human and nine agents

ChatPRD is a bootstrapped AI writing tool for product managers, launched by Claire Vo in November 2023. It reports more than 100,000 users and is operated by a single full-time human working alongside nine AI agents.

ChatPRD started as a custom GPT and a Stripe link. Claire Vo shipped it in November 2023 to find out whether anyone would pay a dollar for an AI that writes product requirement documents. By 2026 the answer was more than 100,000 product managers, six figures in annual revenue, zero venture capital, and a company staffed by one full-time human and nine AI agents.

The product writes PRDs, one-pagers, user stories, and technical specs, then reviews them the way a chief product officer would. It connects to Linear, Notion, Slack, Google Drive, Confluence, GitHub, and the vibe-coding tools including v0, Lovable, Bolt, Replit, and Cursor. Customers listed on its own site include LaunchDarkly, Autodesk, Handshake, Included Health, Babylist, and CopyAI.

The side project that outgrew the day job

Vo built the first version while working as a full-time technology executive. Her account of the founding is unsentimental: she does not have hobbies that fail to make money, so she put a payment form in front of a free GPT and waited to see if anyone would hand her a dollar. Enough people did. In her first-year retrospective she reported six figures of revenue inside six months and 20 to 30 percent month-over-month organic growth.

That growth pattern is the interesting part. There was no paid acquisition and no sales team. Product managers found the tool, used it at work, and brought it into their companies, which is how a $15 per month personal subscription turns into a $29 per seat team contract. The company later added SOC 2 Type II certification, an enterprise tier, and an MCP integration, all without raising outside money.

Nine AI employees, and what that actually means

Vo runs the business with nine named AI agents she manages the way a manager manages people. Polly handles executive assistant work with her own email address and calendar. Sam works inbound sales and books meetings. Findlay runs family logistics. Her framing, on the Solo Founders podcast, is that instead of one large agent she built nine small ones, each with its own identity and tools, each improving over time.

Two clarifications keep this honest. The nine agents span her business and her personal life, not nine ChatPRD staff roles, and the company's own about page still lists a second human, Alisa Haman, as head of growth. Vo detailed the setup on Lenny's Podcast in March 2026 and to Business Insider the following month, where she described a progressive trust process: calendar access first, then email visibility, then drafting and sending, then autonomous tasks.

That progression is the transferable part. Most founders who try to hand work to agents grant everything at once, get one bad output, and quit. Vo earned the delegation in stages.

Where ChatPRD fits in the AI-native stack

ChatPRD sits at the front of the product development pipeline, which is why it survived the wave of AI coding tools rather than being eaten by it. The vibe-coding products build what you describe. ChatPRD sharpens the description. Its integrations point outward into exactly those tools, so the output becomes an input.

Vo's stated ambition is that ChatPRD becomes the chief product officer in every company that cannot afford one. That is a real market: most companies under a hundred people have no product leadership at all, and the ones that do have it stretched across too many teams. Our playbook on AI marketing for small business uses ChatPRD as one of its worked examples of an operator running an entire company on agent leverage.

What it costs and who it is for

Pricing runs free for three limited chats, $15 per month on Pro billed annually at $179, $29 per seat per month on Teams billed at $349 per seat annually, and custom pricing at the enterprise tier. Its own marketing claims more than 750,000 documents created and around ten hours saved per user per week.

Treat the time-savings figure as first-party marketing rather than an audited number. The verifiable facts are the user count, the bootstrapped status, and the six-figure revenue band, all of which Vo has stated publicly and repeatedly. She has never published a precise revenue figure, so anyone quoting a specific ARR number for ChatPRD is guessing.

Frequently asked questions

Who founded ChatPRD?

Claire Vo founded it in November 2023 as a side project while working as a technology executive. She is now its founder and chief executive and runs it full-time. She previously served as chief product and technology officer at LaunchDarkly and as a product leader at Optimizely and Color Health.

Is ChatPRD venture funded?

No. It is bootstrapped with zero venture capital, a point Vo has made repeatedly in public interviews. It generates six figures in annual revenue from subscriptions and has never announced a funding round.

What does ChatPRD cost?

There is a free tier with three limited chats. Pro is $15 per month billed annually at $179. Teams is $29 per seat per month billed annually at $349 per seat. Enterprise pricing is custom. Check the pricing page for current terms.

What does ChatPRD integrate with?

Linear, Notion, Slack, Google Drive, Confluence, and GitHub on the workflow side, plus the AI build tools v0, Lovable, Bolt, Replit, and Cursor. It also supports MCP, so it can be wired into agent setups directly.

How many people work at ChatPRD?

Claire Vo is the only full-time human. Her about page lists Alisa Haman as head of growth, and she operates nine specialized AI agents that handle assistant work, inbound sales, and operations. The company has never reported a conventional headcount.
